The United Regional Opportunity Center (U.R.O.C.) is working to create the UROC in 2017.   The UROC is an accelerated job training opportunities for residents of Milwaukee’s central city that are chronically employed.  The UROC is particularly focused on providing training to veterans but all residents are welcome.    Programs are accelerated, lasting no more than 12 weeks and, in addition, all participants receive hands-on training with one of our social enterprises.   The UROC aims to address the chronic joblessness in Milwaukee’s central city, particularly among minority groups.

The UROC is modeled after the after Esperanza Unida’s training business model, an approach, led by the late Richard Oulahan, that integrated job training, business development and community development.  To learn more about the Esperanza Unida approach, click here.
